Are your primary care contracts up to date?

Commissioning responsibilities for primary care are set to change with integrated care systems taking on the responsibility to commission primary care, starting with primary medical care. Now is the time for current commissioners of primary care services to take stock and check that the contracts are up to date, latest variations issued and that details of the provider are still current.

There will be cases where contracts need to be reissued, where premises have changed, partnerships have altered, where the contractor has opted out of provision of services as a few examples. There will be other situations where variations haven’t been issued and a catch up on these to make the contracts current is required.
