Primary care commissioning development programme

From 1 April 2023, all integrated care boards (ICBs) will be fully delegated and responsible for commissioning all primary care services for their local populations, and by doing so ensuring high quality of care for patients. Is your team ready?

Our development programme is aimed at newly formed and emerging primary care teams in ICBs.

Aims of the programme:

  • To raise your team’s awareness of primary care legislation, contractual frameworks and standard operating procedures in awarding and managing primary care contracts
  • To provide training for all staff on the four primary care commissioning areas as relevant to their roles,
  • To allow dedicated time for your teams to learn and network together in a safe environment

Expected outcomes:

  • Understand the different contract types when commissioning primary care across the four contractor groups
  • Increase staff awareness and knowledge of the four primary care commissioning areas
  • Increased knowledge and understanding of primary care legislation, contractual frameworks and standing operating procedures
