December issue of PCC Insight on innovation in primary care
There has been plenty of attention on the impact of technology led GP services, but most of that has been about the impact on GPs and patients. There are also profound commissioning implications as current regulations and contracts were written before GPAtHand and their rivals appeared on the scene. Some of these were explored at a recent PCC event. A report on the event is among the articles in the December issue of PCC Insight (formerly Commissioning Excellence) which also includes more on the case for including clinical pharmacists in the primary care skill mix and how a merger of two Walsall GP practices quickly turned into a five-practice affair covering a population of 60,000.
