Out-of-hours services: a handbook for CCGs
CCGs will be responsible for commissioning out-of-hours GP services from next April. These are vital services for local people and an important part of commissioning plans. Good out-of-hours services improve the experience of patients and reduce A&E and other urgent care costs.
PCC has produced a comprehensive guide aimed at CCGs commissioning out-of-hours services for the first time.
The guide explains the different roles of CCGs and the NHS Commissioning Board who may both be involved in commissioning services in some circumstances.
