Leadership development programme

PCC has developed and is successfully delivering a three session leadership development programme for leaders and aspiring leaders from NHS England teams, primary care networks and for other groups such as pharmacy leads. The programme aims to increase confidence and focusses on behaviours and leadership styles required to best navigate the changing landscape, getting the most from teams and providing an excellent service.

Using a coaching approach, we ensure that participants can share their own learning and experience and that useful networks and relationships can be built and further developed. We run the programme along the lines of an action learning set. At the end of each session, we ask participants to identify what they might do differently as a result of the session. At the start of the next session, we revisit those ‘pledges’ which gives everyone the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiential learning.

The programme is delivered by an executive coach using a blend of new information, models and theories and facilitating discussion and the sharing of experience. We work to build on confidence as well as leadership competencies.

The programme begins with the opportunity to set the tone for the programme, shaping how we will work together. We’ll spend time reflecting on recent leadership experience and look at what to build on personally and as teams, looking at integrated systems and partnership working and how best to implement this change.

Session 1: Introductions; Leadership styles; leading across systems
Session 2: Leading change and influencing others
Session 3: Programme review and personal resilience

This programme is delivered over three sessions. Each session is approximately three hours in length, and they are held four to six weeks apart. We are able to offer sessions virtually (MS Teams or Zoom) or face to face and we are happy to design sessions to address local needs upon request.
