Claire Walters

Claire has experience of working in the NHS for ten years and has a wealth of knowledge of primary care services in particular NHS dentistry. During this time she led of various projects including service redesign, commissioning of services and the transformation of community services. She also has extensive experience of training and development in the private sector

Claire has successfully managed a primary care dental contract team along with a significant dental budget within PCT ensuring that services were commissioned effectively whilst providing patients with a wide range of accessible, quality services.

Claire has been a key member of the dental contract reform programme since it started in 2010 as well as holding an advisor role with PCC where she supports the North and Central Midland areas.   Claire is a key member of PCC’s dental, eye health and personal and development team and delivers national and local courses across the country.  More recently Claire has been involved in the development and delivery of our Customer Services programme to general practice reception based team.  These sessions have received excellent feedback and the programme is now evolving to offer additional courses to a wider audience.

Claire plays a key role in the development and successful running of the Making Prevention work in practice part of the developing dental leadership programme which allows dentists to be come local leaders and trainers in their own right to develop the skill mix of their teams.  Claire also assists with the accreditation and assessment of dental nurses who are trained under this programme.

Claire is an experienced facilitator who has facilitated both large and small meetings as well as providing bespoke facilitation on request.
