The latest NHS England planning guidance (Delivering the Forward View: NHS planning guidance 2016/17 – 2020/21) underlines the importance of factoring increased investment in GP services into future plans. PCC has produced a summary highlighting the implications of the guidance for primary medical care.
The planning guidance for the NHS was published just before Christmas, but read nothing more into this timing than a desire to give local commissioners and providers as much time as possible to digest the document’s contents and meet the tight deadline to prepare local plans – the first of which need to be delivered early next month.
Many CCGs have at best a mixed experience of working with patients because they don’t invest in the relationship.
So says Jessie Cunnett, who has worked with CCGs to train patients to become useful contributors to local commissioning plans. Jessie’s organisation and PCC have teamed up to offer a three-session course for up to 20 participants at a venue of your choice.
