    The Department of Health published a commissioning Guide to Improving primary eye health services at the South West WCC event on 17 July 2009.  This guide is intended to build awareness and capability within PCTs.  To support world class commissioning, PCTs need to make sure there is appropriate eye care input at Board level whenever decisions about commissioning primary eye health services are taken.

    The Primary Care Service Framework is for adult patients who are drinking to hazardous and harmful or dependent levels.  This document has been updated to include recent policy changes and is supported by a range of enhanced tools to support implementation. A complementary suite of resources and supportive notes is also available.
